  • Upcoming in June 2025: Digital Dentistry Society to Host Groundbreaking Session on Digital in Dentistry

    [vc_row evenz_container=”1″][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]The Digital Dentistry Society Session at the X Anniversary of the International Congress in Sardegna held on June 13th from 8:30 am-1:00 pm will bring together leading international experts in digital dentistry to discuss the latest advancements in technology and clinical applications. The session is accredited of 10 Adacerp/Pace credits.

    Initiating the session Dr. Francesco Grande, PhD Candidate in Digital Dentistry, will explore the quest for accuracy in intraoral scanning. Dr. Fabrizia Luongo, an expert in implantology, will delve into static guided surgery and dynamic navigation. Following her, Prof. Carlo Mangano, Founder and Past President of the Digital Dentistry Society, will illustrate the impact of Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality in Dentistry.

    After the coffee break, Dr. Filippo Rustichini, with a Masters in Forensic Dentistry, will present full-arch rehabilitations with a complete digital workflow. Dr. Gennaro Ruggiero, M.Sc. in Prosthodontics and Digital Dentistry, PhD, and Ambassador for the Digital Dentistry Society Italy, will explain digital workflows in fixed prosthodontics. Closing the session, Dr. FabrizioMolinelli, trainer and consultant for new prosthetic technologies in digital dentistry, will discuss digital complete dentures.

    After lunch,  the course Digital Dentistry in the Modern Era: Integrating Mixed Reality and 3d Imaging of Prof. Mauro Rigolone will follow the DDS Session (2.30 -5.00 pm)

  • Intelligenza artificiale in odontoiatria, usi pratici ed opportunità di scena il 12 giugno nella sessione DAIA

    Così si annuncia il 10° Congresso Internazionale in Sardegna, dal titolo “A Decade in Dental Innovation, what’s next?” in programma dal 12 al 14 giugno prossimi.

    Una delle sessioni più attese, che riguarda l’integrazione dell’Intelligenza Artificiale in odontoiatria.

    Dalle soluzioni basate sull’AI, oggi il paziente può aspettarsi progressi nell’accuratezza delle diagnosi, nell’efficienza dei trattamenti, nei successi di cura.

    Se ne parla di giovedì 12 dalle 8.30 alle 13.00.

    Accreditata di 10 crediti Adacerp/Pace, la mattinata sarà a cura della Dental Artificial Intelligence Association (DAIA) e sarà aperta da Reza Khosravi, co-fondatore, CEO e direttore innovazione DAIA, che presenterà “La nascita della Dental AI Association: una visione per l’impatto globale in odontoiatria e intelligenza artificiale”.

    A seguire, le relazioni di altri esponenti DAIA. La dottoressa Maxine Feinberg, past president dell’American Dental Association (anni 2014-15) parlerà di come AI, realtà virtuale e realtà assistita stiano già rivoluzionando l’odontoiatria.

    Premiato dalla Regina Elisabetta II nel 2007 per i suoi meriti in questo settore, Ameed Khalid Abdul-Hamid, presidente DAIA per il Medio Oriente e già direttore dei Centri britannici di eccellenza in odontoiatria, proporrà un excursus sull’evoluzione dell’intelligenza artificiale in campo odontoiatrico.

    La prima di due presentazioni di Kenneth Aschheim, vice presidente ADA Standards Board, invece verterà sugli standard di intelligenza artificiale nell’attività odontoiatrica.

    Pioniere nelle applicazioni laser dal 1990, nonché fondatrice e past president del gruppo Lasers and Photonics della IADR, Sonia Regina Bordin Aykroyd esplorerà l’uso dell’intelligenza artificiale nelle procedure dentistiche laser e le sue implicazioni per i programmi di formazione.

    Già presidente dell’Associazione Sofia Dental Meeting, e Membro Onorario di Style Italiano Group, il bulgaro Dimitar Filtchev tratterà di AI nell’odontoiatria robotica.

    Simone Stori, Fondatore nel 2014 di Microdent Dental SPA, prima Dental SPA italiana, e artefice di strumenti avanzati come il “Dental Magic Sheet”, tratterà di AI nel percorso del paziente come “rivoluzione per l’odontoiatria moderna”.

    Infine, nella sua seconda presentazione, Kenneth Aschheim tratterà di responsabilità professionale e di decodifica dell’AI in odontoiatria forense.

    La sessione è aperta a professionisti del dentale e ricercatori. I partecipanti, è la “promessa” di DAIA, avranno accesso a formazione e strumenti su misura per la pratica odontoiatrica.

She speaks nationally on many issues especially those concerning the advancement of Women in Dentistry.

    • Dr. Ameed Khalid Abdul-Hamid reviewing The Evolution of Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry.

    He has held several important roles in the Dental AI association of California USA as President of Middle East at the Dental Artificial Intelligence Association. He has also been the Chairman of the Arab Academy of Dental Aesthetics, the Director of the British Centres for Excellence in Dentistry in London, UK, and the Regent for the International Academy of DentoFacial Aesthetics in New York, USA. He was rewarded by Queen Elizabeth II in 2007 for his outstanding services to the field of dentistry

     

    • Dr. Kenneth Aschheim’s presentation on A Guide to AI Standards in Dentistry.

    He is a recognized authority on dental standards in the United States. He is the Vice Chairman of the American Dental Association Standards Board and the U.S. subject matter expert on AI standards. Dr. Aschheim’s extensive contributions to dental standards and informatics, including AI policies, continue to influence best practices and drive advancements in the field.

     

    • Dr. Sonia Regina Bordin Aykroyd exploring the use of AI in laser dental procedures and its implications for training programs.

    A pioneer in laser applications since 1990, with clinical, research, and educational experience across Brazil, the UK, and the USA. Certified Laser Specialist & International Instructor. Founder and Past-President of the Lasers and Photonics Group at the IADR.. Committee Member for ADA-ANSI and ISO Standards on Laser Dentistry and Artificial Intelligence. Actively contributing to the development and review of both laser dentistry and AI standards in dentistry.

    • Dr. Dimitar Filtchev Back from the Future: Exploring the Limits of AI and Robotic Dentistry

    Dr. Emad Salloum instead will lecture about  “Complications Versus Errors in Immediate Implant Placement”

    Dr. Salloum,  international Ambassador for International Congress of Oral Implantology ICOI, and Ambassador of Digital Dentistry Society DDS, American Academy of Oral Surgery, International Academy of Ultrasonic Surgery.

    He is on faculty and speakers for the British Academy of Implant and Restorative Dentistry (BAIRD), and international speaker and expert on Dental XP.

    He will explore the critical distinctions between complications and mistakes encountered during immediate implant procedures. His evidence-based analysis will provide valuable perspectives for practitioners on mitigating risks and enhancing success rates.

    Dr. Lee’s presentation will explore the multifaceted nature of challenges encountered in implant dentistry. By examining various facets of a singular issue, he will offer strategies for achieving improved patient outcomes.

    Following Aos Session the stage will host first Dr Lucia Lisi, graduated cum laude in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics, she began her professional career collaborating with various dental practices dedicating herself with great passion to oral surgery, cariology, and prevention. Specialaized cum laude in Pediatric Dentistry.

    Title of his lecture: Simplifying for Excellence: Precision and Aesthetic-Functional Success in Computer-Guided Implantology

    Brothers Agnini, Alessandro and Andrea will follow with their presentation “Decision-Making and Surgical Approaches for the Management of Post-Extraction Implants in the Aesthetic Zone”

    In keeping with tradition this session will feature leading experts presenting the latest advancements in minimally invasive techniques, instrumentation, and ozone therapy, all designed to enhance patient comfort and elevate the standard of care.

    9:00 am – 10:30 am – Translational Approach in Clinical and Home Protocols in the Management of Periodontal and Implant Patients

    Speaker: Andrea Butera – Dental hygienist, contract professor in the Dental and Dental Hygiene program at the University of Pavia, Italy PhD, Health Sciences, UCAM University of Murcia, University of Pavia, Director of Teaching Activities of the Degree Course in Dental Hygiene, University of Pavia and Research grant holder, University of Pavia will examine new strategies for managing periodontal and implant patients, covering:

    • The gold standard in home and clinical care
    • New instruments that significantly reduce bacterial load
    • The advantages of the technique aimed at the natural reduction of the bacterial load over time  to minimize long-term pharmacological exposure.

    10:30 am – 12:00 am – Mini-Invasive Strategies for Treating Peri-Implantitis and Periodontitis

    Speaker: Maria Gabriella Grusovin, Swedish-Italian Periodontist and Implant Specialist, former lecturer at the Universities of Manchester, UK and Vita e Salute San Raffaele, Milano, Italy and author of over 80 publications and book chapters.

    She will explore:

    • The latest minimally invasive treatment techniques
    • The role of powders and other instruments
    • Pre- and post-surgical care
    • The role of the hygienist and the importance of synergistic work with the dentist.

    Periodontitis and peri-implantitis are increasingly frequent pathologies in our practices. The aim is to remove the infection but also to allow adequate maintenance of the health conditions around the implant and the tooth and to obtain adequate aesthetics.

    Degree in  Dental Hygiene at the Luigi Vanvitelli School, University of Naples, Italy, Specialist in Minimally Invasive Procedures in Periodontology from the University of Siena, Italy, Master’s Degree in Periodontology and Oral Surgery at the Tech Institute of Mexico City, Mexico and Author of the book “Ozone Therapy Dentistry: Evidence-Based Clinical Protocols” will introduce the “One Shot” protocol for dental hygienists and dentists. He will:

    • Explain advancements in dental ozone therapy
    • Showcase how new chemical technologies are revolutionizing daily clinical practice
    • Demonstrate applications of ozone therapy that were unthinkable just a few years ago

    Dental ozone therapy has gained prominence in recent years due to simplified, more predictable application methods. Advancements in chemical technology have made once-unimaginable daily treatments a reality. Notably, topical home ozone therapy now offers effective long-term solutions for conditions like periodontitis and peri-implantitis. If you’re curious about the future of non-invasive dental treatments, this session is not to be missed!
