  • Strumentazione, tecnologie mininvasive, ozonoterapia: appuntamento da non perdere per gli Igienisti dentali sabato 14 giugno al Congresso Internazionale AIO in Sardegna

    [vc_row evenz_container=”1″][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Igienisti dentali in risalto al 10° Anniversario del  Congresso Internazionale in programma al Forte Village dal 12-14 giugno. Come da tradizione di ogni Congresso di Associazione Italiana Odontoiatri-AIO in Sardegna, infatti, non mancherà la sessione loro dedicata. Si svolgerà sabato 14 giugno dalle 9 alle 13; foriera di 8 crediti ECM, sarà aperta a odontoiatri ed igienisti.

    Gli interventi – La mattinata avrà come focus il trattamento mini invasivo delle peri-implantiti e delle parodontiti, con protocolli nuovi e nuove strategie, e relatori di primo piano. Il primo contributo sarà di Andrea Butera. Igienista Dentale,  Docente a contratto del Corso di Laurea in Odontoiatria ed  Igiene Dentale, Università di Pavia che tratterà di “Approccio traslazionale nei protocolli clinici e domiciliari nella gestione del paziente parodontale e implantare”: si spazia dal gold standard in letteratura, ai nuovi strumenti per abbattere efficacemente la carica batterica, fino ai vantaggi delle tecniche per ridurre l’esposizione chimico farmacologica del paziente a lungo termine.

    A seguire, l’odontoiatra italo-svedese Maria Gabriella Grusovin, specialista in Parodontologia e Impianti e già Docente alle Università di Manchester e Vita e Salute San Raffaele (MI), relazionerà sulle “Nuove strategie mini-invasive per il trattamento di peri-implantite e parodontite”  , analizzando le diverse metodiche a disposizione, quali l’uso delle polveri e di mezzi aggiuntivi e valutando sia la preparazione all’approccio chirurgico sia la gestione del post operatorio in costante sinergia tra igienista ed odontoiatra.

    Conclude la Sessione Giulio Papa, docente di Master di 1° e 2° Livello in vari atenei: Roma Sapienza, Padova, Catanzaro, Murcia (Spagna). La sua relazione “ One shot: surgery by prevention. Il protocollo unico per l’igienista dentale e l’odontoiatra” illustrerà i trattamenti che sono stati introdotti grazie agli sviluppi degli ultimi anni nell’ozonoterapia odontoiatrica. Un campo dove nuove tecnologie chimiche hanno reso disponibili per i clinici terapie quotidiane fino a qualche anno fa inimmaginabili.

    On Saturday afternoon, June 14th, at the conclusion of the Yellow, Green and Blue Path lecture series and after a break for lunch, the AIO Academy Session will commence followed by the special must-attend presentations by Antonio Pelliccia and Carlo Guastamacchia.     2:30 pm – 3:45 pm – Vincenzo Musella, Cultural Secretary of  the Italian Dental Association AIO, founder and director of the AIO Academy, will coordinate the session held by the brilliant upcoming lecturers Tommaso Ghedini, Davide Guglielmi, Francesco Iacono and Luca Toselli dedicated to the “Recovery of the Compromised Tooth: Opportunity or Limit?”

    Musella explains: “We have always shared a strong love for our profession at AIO: that feeds us, from which we draw enthusiasm and energy. We think of young people as an engine of continuity for our Association”.

    3:45 – 5:00 pm – Antonio Pelliccia, Adjunct Professor of Health Economics, professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Catholic University of Rome and at the Vita e Salute San Raffaele University of Milan also a member of the American Marketing Association, will explore the dental market in the face of the evolution of medicine.

    As Artificial Intelligence (AI) begins taking over various human tasks, from repetitive actions to cognitive processes, it’s becoming clear that Emotional Intelligence (EI) and relationship-building skills are more important than ever. Since then, much has changed, and after nearly 70 years of experience, Professor Tamà has revisited these principles to adapt them to today’s dental world.

    Dental professionals, dentists, hygienists, and assistants, are facing new and varied stresses. These include not just the physical demands of the job but also external pressures, such as dealing with patients who have been influenced by unreliable outside sources, leading to misconceptions about symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.

Un congresso dal taglio internazionale, che al termine dei percorsi ECM rosso (periodontologia-implantologia), giallo (endodonzia), verde (protesica) e blu (ortodonzia-pedodonzia), offrirà – subito dopo il pranzo – la Sessione di AIO Academy. A chiudere, gli interventi di Antonio Pelliccia e Carlo Guastamacchia. L’incontro, rivolto a tutti i congressisti, sarà gratuito e rappresenterà un’importante occasione di aggiornamento e formazione.

    Sessione AIO ACADEMY  – Nel pomeriggio, dalle 14.30 alle 15.45, i partecipanti avranno l’opportunità di accedere alla Sessione culturale a cura di AIO Academy, l’Accademia dei soci di Associazione Italiana Odontoiatri, fondata e diretta dal Segretario Culturale Nazionale AIO, Vincenzo Musella. Durante l’evento, dedicato al “Recupero del dente compromesso: opportunità o limite?” e presentato dal Dottor Musella, interverranno quattro relatori di AIO Academy: Tommaso Ghedini, Davide Guglielmi, Francesco Iacono e Luca Toselli dettagliando specifici aspetti dell’argomento.

    L’intervento di Pelliccia – Adjunt Professor Health Economics, docente alla facoltà di Medicina dell’ Università Cattolica di Roma of Rome Vita e all’Università Vita e Salute San Raffaele di Milano e membro di American Marketing Association, Antonio Pelliccia offrirà un focus, sintetico ma con fonti ufficiali e oggettive, sul mercato odontoiatrico di fronte al futuro sviluppo della medicina. Mentre alcune attività umane – non solo le più ripetitive, ma anche quelle cognitive – si avviano ad essere svolte da algoritmi di Intelligenza Artificiale, diventa sempre più strategico allenare le capacità relazionali tipiche dell’Intelligenza Emotiva. «Siamo immersi in un contesto economico e sociale che viene definito VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity e Ambiguity) che sta rivoluzionando le nostre vite e in particolare l’organizzazione delle imprese e del lavoro», spiega Pelliccia. «Le nuove scoperte in ambito tecnologico, in particolare l’AI, stanno impattando fortemente sia l’ambito sociale sia quello organizzativo. Si rende sempre più necessario sviluppare competenze “soft”, per adattarsi in maniera sostenibile al nuovo scenario. Le persone scelgono, l’economia modifica, il diritto regolamenta, le istituzioni promulgano; ma a costruire il futuro sono le libere professioni, composte da persone che propongono concetti in base ai quali sono giudicate, come qualità percepita e reale, e valore economico, in quanto il concetto di valore assume oggi un ruolo fondamentale nella valutazione e nel monitoraggio dei servizi offerti e praticati».

    Il contributo di Guastamacchia – Infine, il professor Carlo Guastamacchia affronterà  un problema fondamentale, ma troppo spesso trascurato, esaminando l’evoluzione da attribuire, relativamente agli ultimi decenni, al termine “Ergonomia odontoiatrica”. È stato proprio il professor “Tamà”, da docente, ad introdurre il termine “ergonomia”, oltre mezzo secolo fa, e ad insegnarne i principi a tutto il mondo odontoiatrico con l’obiettivo di ridurre al minimo i malanni derivanti da cattive prestazioni fisiche e da una impostazione generale favorente i problemi stressanti. Negli anni, si sono verificati alcuni fatti nuovi, e molte variabili sono cambiate. Quasi 70 anni di attività, la costante attenzione alle valenze ergonomiche, e numerose variazioni “contestuali” del mondo attuale, hanno obbligato il professor “Tamà” ad un nuovo approccio d’esame e di sostegno verso dentisti, igienisti, ASO. Operatori che, pur nei rispettivi e diversificati compiti operativi, e nelle differenti leadership situazionali, sono oggi sottoposti a nuovi, molteplici stress. Ad esempio, gli inconvenienti relativi al continuo confronto con opinioni del paziente ispirate non da colloqui familiari o con amici, ma da continue sollecitazioni esterne che comunque (dis)-informano in merito all’identificazione di sintomi e/o diagnosi. Vita professionale e personale vanno qui considerate in modo unitario. L’intervento affronta l’intera problematica, con il sostegno dei rimedi più documentati e consigliabili, sia da un punto di vista primariamente odontoiatrico che, in generale, con un occhio ai nove principi per la Salute raccomandati dall’Organizzazione Mondiale della Sanità.

  • Estetica in plenaria: al Forte Village i maestri sabato 14 giugno concludono i percorsi ECM verde e rosso

Al Congresso Internazionale AIO (12-14 giugno), giunto al 10° anniversario, la plenaria chiude in sala congiunta i percorsi verde di conservativa e rosso di parodontologia. Entrambi i percorsi seguiti integralmente erogano 18 crediti ECM.

    I maestri italiani – Prevista dalle 8.30 alle 13.15, unificando le sale 1 e 2, la sessione parte con la lectio magistralis di due capisaldi della conservativa, di cui l’Italia è orgogliosa: Camillo D’Arcangelo, Ordinario di Odontoiatria Restaurativa all’Università di Chieti e Lorenzo Vanini, titolare dell’insegnamento “Il Colore in Odontoiatria Ricostruttiva” a Chieti e visiting professor in Odontoiatria Restauratrice Estetica a Marsiglia. Nella relazione su “restauri adesivi con tecniche conservative diretei ed indirette : dall’estetica alla funzione”, i due maestri,  metteranno in evidenza quanto il rigore operativo sia ancora il segreto per ottenere un risultato clinico corretto e standardizzato e forniranno le nozioni complete per affrontare al meglio i casi di riabilitazione dei settori anteriori e latero-posteriori.

    I nuovi compositi e l’uso dell’intelligenza artificiale – Si prosegue con Esra Uzer Celik, docente alle università di Ankara e di Ege in Turchia, relatrice di livello internazionale, che parla del potenziale dei compositi altamente riempiti e della loro resistenza a usura e flessione come anche la loro integrità marginale. Quindi Margarida Henrique, co-autrice del libro “Faccette” (edito da Quintessenza) e docente a Sao Paulo (Brasile), parla del ruolo della intelligenza artificiale nella selezione del colore dentale e nella pianificazione del trattamento per una ricerca estetica dai risultati predicibili.

    AFG Modeling e ricostruzioni ossee – Dopo Il break Alberto Battistelli, autore del libro  “AFG Modelling”, tradotto in 13 lingue, su una tecnica diventata negli ultimi anni materia di insegnamento in università nazionali e internazionali, con la cagliaritana Elisabetta Pastorini, Official AFG International Training Coach, presenta la relazione “I NUAFG, numeri nei denti che fanno tornare i conti”, che tratta di un sistema basato sui numeri per progettare, modellare e comunicare la forma dentale umana. Segue il contributo di un altro maestro, Carlo Tinti, docente a Firenze e a Torino, in materia di Ricostruzioni Ossee per un corretto posizionamento dell’impianto.

    Medicina estetica del viso in odontoiatria – La sessione si chiude con Adriano Bartoli, pioniere della Medicina estetica facciale in Odontoiatria dal 2004, Ambasciatore internazionale dell’odontoiatria cosmetica del viso e presidente Simeo della Regione Lazio. La sua relazione ha come titolo “ La medicina estetica del viso nello studio odontoiatrico: un’evoluzione entusiasmante”

  • “Esthetics” takes center stage at the Saturday Plenary Session marking the conclusion of the red & green path of lecture series

    Saturday, June 14th, the spotlight will shine on the highly anticipated Saturday Plenary Session, dedicated to Esthetics while serving as the grand finale of the “Green Path” lecture series in conservative dentistry and the “Red Path” series in periodontics.

    Attendees will have the opportunity to earn up to 20 ADA CERP/AGD PACE credits by combining the Saturday Plenary Session with a Friday morning session, either Style Italiano for the “Green Path” or Prosto-Perio for the “Red Path”, together with the Plenary Session held on Friday afternoon.

    8:30 am – 10:00 am: The Saturday Plenary Session will begin with a keynote lecture from two  cornerstones and pride of Italian conservative dentistry: Camillo D’Arcangelo, distinguished sought-after speaker at major global conferences holding academic positions at the Universities of Florence, Turin, and Chieti, where he serves as a Full Professor of Restorative Dentistry and Dean of multiple departments, including the Postgraduate Master in Esthetic Minimal Invasive Dentistry. An honorary professor at the Ukrainian Medical and Dental Academy, he has contributed to over 100 publications in prestigious international journals and is a key figure in dental education and research and Lorenzo Vanini, a sought after speaker, renowned expert in esthetic restorative dentistry as well as lecturer in “Color in Reconstructive Dentistry” at the University of Chieti, Italy.  Visiting professor in Marseille, France, he also conducts research on composite materials in Italy and Germany and has authored numerous scientific publications. He has co-authored several influential dental texts, including New Aesthetic Concepts in the Use of Composite Materials and The Conservative Restoration of Anterior and Posterior Teeth. Additionally, he has contributed to multimedia educational systems and chapters in texts on conservative dentistry and traumatology. The team of two masters will brilliantly discuss “adhesive restorations with direct and indirect conservative techniques: from Esthetics to function”, highlighting how operational rigor is still the secret to obtaining a precise and standardized clinical result and will provide a guides, series of tips and suggestions in the rehabilitation of the anterior and lateral-posterior sectors.

    10:00 am – 10:30 am: The Saturday Plenary Session continues with Esra Uzer Celik  from Turkey with a PhD degree in Restorative Dentistry and professor at the Universities of Ankara and Ege in Turkey. An international speaker, author and co-author of many peer-reviewed publications she is also a member of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) and Turkish Association of Restorative Dentistry. Her lecture “Simplicity and  Strength: Unlocking the Potential of Highly Filled Composites” will focus on practical techniques to maximize the efficiency and performance of highly filled composites, helping clinicians achieve predictable, long-lasting and esthetic restorations with ease.

    10:30 am – 11:00 am: Next, Margarida Henrique, a specialist in implantology and esthetics,   with Masters and postgraduate degrees from the University of Seville,Spain, co-author of the book “Veneers” (published by Quintessenza), active member of Style Italiano, Certified Member of the ESCD (European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry), Professor in the Ivan Ronald Dental Training Center in São Paulo, Brasil with a private practice dedicated to Surgery and Prosthodontics in Seville, Spain will lecture on “Esthetic Pursuit: The Role of AI in Dental Shade Selection and Treatment Planning” demonstrating how important the creation of protocols is in achieving the correct planned esthetic result and how crucial they are in obtaining predictable outcomes.

    11:00 am – 11:30 am: Break

    11:30 am – 12:30 pm: Beginning the next section of the Saturday Plenary Session, Alberto Battistelli, creator of A.F.G. (Anatomic Functional Geometry) published in six languages, author of the book entitled “AFG Modelling” on the A.F.G system a  consolidated technique that has become a subject of teaching in national and international universities and translated into 13 languages and Founder of AFG Dental Academy, together with Elisabetta Pastorini from Cagliari, Italy an Official AFG International Training Coach She holds courses and conferences in Italy and abroad, is a member of scientific committees of numerous dental journals, as well as a founding member of the AFG Dental Academy, will present their lecture on “NUAFG, Numbers in Teeth that Add Up”, unveiling a unique codified system to design, model and communicate the natural and functional shape of human teeth, based on mathematical-geometric criteria.

    12:30 – 1:15: Next up,  Carlo Tinti, author of publications in national and international journals, lecturer in conferences both in Italy and abroad, contract professor at the University of Turin,  Italy contract professor at the University of Florence, Italy where he teaches “Surgical techniques in Implantology” with a private practice in Flero, Brescia, Italy specialising exclusively in periodontology and implantology will lecture on “Bone Reconstructions for Correct Implant Placement” discussing that a correct treatment plan in implantology requires both functional as well as esthetic evaluation for the creation of an optimal emergence profile and how to correctly diagnose the residual bone architecture and determine the need for reconstructing the lost bone that is essential in attaining these objectives.

    1:15 pm – 1:45 pm: Closing the Saturday Plenary Session Adriano Bartoli, a pioneer of facial esthetic medicine in dentistry. As an International Ambassador of facial cosmetic dentistry he has taught facial fillers throughout the world sharing his knowledge on the latest innovations in esthetic therapies with the use of injectables. He has been a mentor of a revolutionary line of mixed dermal fillers, a cornerstone of fillers absorbables of hyaluronic acid and agarose, which has revolutionized the durability standards of volumizing facial treatments.     Plenary session on Friday afternoon will be a multidisciplinary session with topics of interest aimed at all participants, dentists, orthodontists, esthetic doctors and beyond.

    A series of color-coded “Paths” have been created, each dedicated to a different dental discipline, making it easier for participants to follow their individual fields of interest:  Green dedicated to Conservative Dentistry, Red to Periodontics, Blue to Pedodontics and Orthodontics and Yellow to Endodontics with all the paths converging in the Plenary Session on Friday afternoon

    All about aesthetic medicine in dentistry: Ignazio Ticca, Associate Professor in Esthetic Medicine in Valencia, Spain and Damiano Soma, Specialist in Maxillofacial Surgery and director of Maxillofacial Surgery in Sassari, Italy   will discuss esthetics of the lips and nose through standardized and fully reproducible and safe techniques aimed at maintaining a harmonious result that respects the proportions of the face.

    Crediti ECM – Come negli anni precedenti  il programma è multidisciplinare con temi interessanti tutti i partecipanti. In plenaria confluiranno i percorsi di formazione continua verde (conservativa), rosso (parodontologia) e blu (pedodonzia-ortodonzia). Il loro intervento illustrerà lo stato dell’arte nelle riabilitazioni ortodontiche e restaurative, partendo dai casi semplici fino a quelli più complessi. Il flusso orto-perio-protesico – La sezione multidisciplinare prosegue con Daniela Garbo specialista in parodontologia (Torino, Aarhus) che insieme a Gualtiero Mandelli della Scuola di Specializzazione in Ortodonzia dell’Università Vita e Salute San Raffaele di Milano, si concentrerà sull’Approccio orto-perio e sulla “pianificazione interdisciplinare del movimento dentale guidato dal periodonto nel paziente con o senza perdita di attacco”.     9:45 – 10:30 – Following, Alessandro Greco, Past President of the Italian Society of Bidimensional Technique (S.I.Te.Bi), author of scientific articles in national and international journals, speaker at national and international courses and conferences. and a freelancer in Rome, Italy dedicated to orthodontics will talk about “Orthodontics with Aligners from 0 to 100 in 20 Yersof Experience”, exploring the use of aligners as a valid therapeutic alternative. By fully understanding the advantages and limitations of the system it is possible to determine those cases in which their use offers an effective advantage.

    Allineatori, arma in più per chi pratica la tecnologia digitale – A oltre vent’anni dall’introduzione, gli allineatori rappresentano un’opzione consolidata, capace di offrire trattamenti sempre più validi esteticamente, discreti e calibrati sulle esigenze dei pazienti. C’è maggiore consapevolezza sulle indicazioni specifiche e sui limiti di questo sistema: un ruolo chiave è giocato da una pianificazione digitale di elevata qualità: la vera differenza si ottiene comprendendo a priori quali casi richiedono supporti aggiuntivi, come l’ancoraggio scheletrico, per ottenere risultati predicibili, o approcci mirati e temporanei che utilizzino i fondamenti dell’ ortodonzia fissa. Resta aperto il quesito: è possibile integrare evidenza scientifica ed esperienza clinica per delineare linee guida chiare? La conferenza esplorerà come una attenta progettazione digitale e l’utilizzo di tecniche ibride superino i limiti biomeccanici degli allineatori e migliorino la prevedibilità dei risultati.

    Vantaggi e limiti dei “nuovi” strumenti – Si parte con  Renato Cocconi, specialista in Ortodonzia, neoeletto Presidente del comitato scientifico dell’Angle Society of Europe, attivo a Parma dove dirige il Centro di chirurgia ortodontica facciale in collaborazione con il chirurgo Mirco Raffaini. Cocconi parlerà di “Pianificazione digitale denominatore comune per il trattamento ortodontico con allineatori e apparecchi fissi”. A seguire, Alessandro Greco, Past President della Società Italiana di Tecnica Bidimensionale (S.I.Te.Bi), operativo a Roma, tratterà di “Ortodonzia con allineatori da 0 a 100 in 20 anni di esperienza“, cioè di come la comprensione di vantaggi e limiti di questi strumenti consenta di determinare i casi in essi offrono un vantaggio effettivo.

    Approcci semplificati ed istruzioni per l’uso – Quindi, Giorgio Iodice, Honorary Senior Lecturer e Clinical Tutor alle Università di Napoli Federico II e di Otago in Nuova Zelanda, oltre che past-President della Italian Society of Aligners (SIALIGN) esplorerà i “Limits of Aligners: Recognise and Overcome” descrivendo flussi di lavoro clinici per combinare allineatori e ancoraggio scheletrico in diversi scenari clinici. I partecipanti saranno guidati verso approcci più semplificati e prevedibili, dalla facile gestione clinica e di routine applicabili nella pratica clinica ortodontica quotidiana.     Pedodonzia: focus pure su amelogenesi imperfetta e traumi – Katrin Bekes, Presidente del Dipartimento di Odontoiatria Pediatrica della Clinica Universitaria di Odontoiatria dell’Università di Medicina di Vienna, apre con una relazione sui denti ipo-mineralizzati  e sull’attuale trattamento dei pazienti con ipo-mineralizzazione di incisivi e molari (MIH). Si prosegue con Maria Giovanna Barboni, già Professore a contratto nell’International MD Program Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele, con un focus sulle possibilità terapeutico-preventive nei soggetti colpiti da ipo-mineralizzazione. Dopo il break Figen Seymen, Università di Altınbas, presidente della Federazione Mondiale Odontoiatria Pediatrica (IAPD)  parlerà di Amelogenesi imperfetta (AI) e di come  implementare metodi diagnostici più accurati volti soprattutto a correlare l’aspetto clinico e radiografico dello smalto con la potenziale origine genetica della patologia. Chiuderà la mattinata la libanese  Maria El Khoury, “Teaching Assistant” al dipartimento di Medicina Orale e Radiologia Maxillo-facciale della Saint Joseph University-Beirut, con un excursus sui nuovi approcci a diagnosi e gestione delle lesioni dentali traumatiche.

    Ortodonzia: sabato in plenaria il confronto sugli aligners – Il percorso prosegue il pomeriggio del venerdi (ore 15-18)  con la plenaria multidisciplinare con importanti passaggi sui temi estetici con Marco Veneziani, Fabio Federici Canova, Daniele Garbo, Gualtiero Mandelli: si parla di medicina estetica e molto altro. E si chiude sabato 14 mattina, con la sessione di ortodonzia dal titolo “20 anni di allineatori: quale il giudizio critico dell’ Ortodontista?” Aprirà  Renato Cocconi, relatore di fama internazionale e neo-eletto Presidente del comitato scientifico della Angle Society of Europe, relazionando sulla pianificazione digitale. Segue Alessandro Greco , Past President della Società Italiana di Tecnica Bidimensionale (S.I.Te.Bi), in materia di uso degli aligners a 20 anni dal loro lancio. Dei limiti degli allineatori e di come riconoscerli e superarli parlerà Giorgio Iodice (Università di Napoli Federico II e di Otago in Nuova Zelanda). Chiuderà Vincenzo D’Anto,  della Scuola di Ortodonzia dell’Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, intervenendo sui limiti biomeccanici degli allineatori e sulle chance di ottenere risultati predicibili.
